How old is the battery? Put a voltmeter on it and watch the voltage while attempting to crank. If it goes below 9.6 volts or so, either it isn't be charged by the generator and needs to be charged or is bad. Should read about 12.6 volts with a DVOM, or 12.5 with an analog meter with key off. Seems like 4 years is the live a a battery.
